Mahogany tree infested with whiteflies on leaves
The woolly cotton whitefly, a sucking insect, was found feeding heavily on the leaves of mature mahogany trees at the Legislature Building on St. Thomas. These whiteflies excrete a sticky honeydew substance on the leaves that was dripping on the cars parked below the trees.

To minimize the pest, soap, oil, neem spray and/or a systemic insecticide can be used to decrease pest numbers. Also, a black sooty mold will grow on the honeydew, which cuts off photosynthesis. If not addressed, the trees vigor and growth can be compromised. So basically you need to reduce the whitefly numbers to save the trees and protect your cars.
